In this post, I want to share my July 2018 Review. At the start of January 2018, I uploaded a video to my YouTube channel to share my goals (business/personal) for the year 2018. In this blog post, I will share my July 2018 stats and whether or not I’ve reached those goals.
You can view the aforementioned video here:
Upload 3 YouTube videos per week
- You can see the videos I’ve uploaded this July via the playlist link below. I took a 2-week break from uploading in July, hence why I’ve only 7 videos in this playlist. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUJklGeVwDGKqW1ht2maPQBtKv0jgX1bb
Upload 1 Blog post per week
I managed to upload 5 blog posts in July 2018. You can view them below:
Daily posts on Instagram, Facebook & Twitter
- In July 2018, I posted 17/31 days on Facebook. Overall I uploaded 30 individual posts on this platform and gained 8 page likes. Below is the post that received the most traction.
- Also this July, I took a 2-week break from my Instagram. I have uploaded 10 posts on Instagram, the one below reached the most people.
July 2018 YouTube Stats
In July, my watch time and views were up on the previous month which is amazing. It still blows my mind that 321,229 minutes of my content is being watched monthly. That’s over 5,353 hours a month.
Looking ahead to 2018 as a whole, my goal on YouTube is to achieve 6,000 subscribers for a total of 12,000 subscribers by December 31st, 2018. In July 2018 I gained 421 subs the number now stands at 8,431. Realistically I need to gain 500 per month. If these numbers stay the same I won’t be on course to reach my subscriber goal.
In the 7 months since January 2018, I’ve gained 2,443 subscribers, had 700,067 views with a watch time of 2,112,984 minutes.

July 2018 Blog Stats
In July I uploaded 5 posts as I mentioned above. I still have not managed to gather a consistent upload schedule. It’s definitely something I hope to achieve in August.
My top 5 referrers were: Pinterest with 99 views, Facebook with 80 views, Search Engines with 73 views, YouTube with 49 and Stumbleupon with 32 views.
Reduce screen time
July was another extremely warm month here in Ireland. We’ve been having a heatwave. As a result, we have been spending lots of time outside so reducing screen time.
Daily “learning” activities
Ava likes to sing along with us. Every day we sing between 5-10 songs and count 1-10 numerous times throughout the day too.
When we go for a morning walk, I always ensure to point out all the sights too. I get Ava to say the sounds of animals.
We go on a playdate 1-2 times per week for some interaction with children her own age.
With the hot weather, we’ve been outside exploring a lot. Ava’s favourite activity is pointing out planes and helicopters in the sky. Paddle pools, trips to the playground, walks in the wild and water play keep her entertained. Ava has also been playing with her sandpit, bubbles, building blocks, golf balls, footballs. Lots of outside activity and she loves every second of it.
Words she can now say: Hello, Mama, Car, Two, Three, Four, Six, Ten, Dada, Nana, Balloon, Bye, Bird, Bowl, Ball, Blue, Purple, More, Pop, Sky, Ladder, Yes, No, Go, Clock, Bubbles, Bob, Isla and Fridge. One thing she now says is “Oh God” and I can’t say I’m happy about that one.
She sounds out the letter “A’, “B’, “C”, “H”, “D”, “J” and “L”.
She also sounds all the animal noises for Dog, Cat, Cow, Sheep, Pig, Duck, Bird, Horse, Owl, Rooster, Lion, Elephant and Chicken.
Read 1 book in each of these categories: financial, leadership and self-development
- FAIL, I did read 10 pages of Rich Dad, Poor Dad but I never completed or committed to it.
Spend 4 hours learning French
- FAIL, I think this goal is dead and gone, I’m so busy trying to build my blog and YouTube and look after my daughter, I barely have time to do anything else.
At the start of May 2018, we made the decision to focus on our finances and save as much as we can. We are a one income family and whilst money isn’t “tight” we do need to watch what we spend.
In April I started to budget via a software called * YNAB (You Need A Budget) and we managed to save €650. May we put €559, June we put €275 and July we placed €397 into our savings.
Overall I’m happy with my YouTube and Twitter stats for the month of July 2018. Especially as I took the 2-week break mid-month. Like past months there are some areas needing improvement (Facebook, Blog and Instagram). August will be spent building a consistent upload schedule on my Blog and YouTube. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading my post today.
Until next time,
*YNAB – This is a referral link. You will receive a 34 day free trial of YNAB and if you decide to subscribe at the end of the trial we both get a free month of YNAB.
