As you can tell by the title today I will share 5 baby products we have purchased and used with our daughter from birth to 2 years old. In my opinion, these products are worth the cost and we still use them to this day. My daughter turned 2 years old in March 2018.

Below I have outlined the 5 products. Obviously, a cot and a stroller could be listed but I feel that would be surplus as most people use these for the first 2/3 years anyway. If you are interested in learning how to choose a stroller, check out my post hereIf you would like to view my list of baby products you do not need, you can do so here

Product Insight

1. Joie Stages Group 0-1-2 Car Seat

We purchased the Joie Stages car seat when my daughter was 3 months old, up to that point we used the car seat we purchased with our travel system (stroller).

The Joie Stages is designed to grow with your child from 0-7 years old. It can rear face from birth to 18kg and forward face from 9 to 25kg. It features a padded ventilated headrest, 5 point safety harness, 4 recline positions, steel enhanced frame and side impact protection, to name a few.

We absolutely love this seat, it’s extremely durable, adaptable and easy to wipe clean. I would have no qualms in recommending this to friends and family.

We purchased ours from Mothercare (Ireland) but you can buy yours from Amazon UK: https://amzn.to/2IVWkdM

** You will need to check with the Joie website to ensure the car seat is compatible with your car.**

2. Rear Window Sun Shades

This is perfect for those long stuffy summer journeys to keep the kids protected from the sun but cool at the same time. The great thing is unlike traditional sun blinds these are child proof and cannot be removed by your little ones during a journey giving you more peace of mind.

They are stretchy and will fit most cars, they also fit and remove in seconds. Cannot recommend these enough, my only complaint being they sometimes flap against the window if you don’t pull them tight on the outside. Overall, I really do recommend you get these for the rear windows, they offer perfect shade for those in the back seats. We purchased ours from Halfords, however, there are similar ones available on Amazon UK & US: https://amzn.to/2ITDatn

3. Stokke FlexiBath

We received the Stokke Flexibath from my sister as a gift when my daughter was born. She also purchased the newborn support which allows us to use the bath from birth. As we live in a small apartment this bath has been great as it folds up and can be stored out of sight.

It features a non-slip base to prevent your little ones from slipping and is easy to use. Simply unfold, fill the bath and enjoy bathtime with your baby. The Stokke Flexi Bath Newborn Support is designed to fit the baby’s natural body shape. Mimicking the support of a steady arm, the ergonomic shape ensures comfort while allowing baby to kick and splash freely.

We have used this bath from birth to 2 years old, although it is expensive for a baby bath, I feel it’s worth the cost and would have no problem repurchasing or gifting to a friend. Our daughter has always been high on the development curve for height and weight but we’ve never had an issue with needing more space in this bath. Another item I highly recommend you consider and it can be purchased from Amazon UK & US: https://amzn.to/2skqsbT

4. BT Video Baby Monitor 7500 Lightshow

The BT 7500 Lightshow video baby monitor features a 3.5-inch touchscreen so you can monitor your little one. The camera on the monitor can be zoomed, panned and tilted to give you the clearest view possible. The BT 7500 monitor also features a light show that will project moon and stars onto the ceiling which baby can gaze at as they slowly drift off the sleep, and will also play 19 sounds and lullabies to help settle and calm your little one. It also has HD Sound for crystal clear audio so sensitive you can hear your little one breathing. Additional cameras can also be added so you can see different angles of the room or your little one. (can have up to 4 cameras attached) – sold separately

We purchased our monitor when my daughter was 2 months old. My favourite feature is the 19 sounds. Our daughter loves the heartbeat and calm waves sound this monitor makes. If she is struggling to settle, we always turn on these sounds and it won’t be long before she drifts off to sleep. A great monitor, ours is 2 years old and has been dropped so many times. The base has come loose but it will still rotate and works just fine. Definitely would recommend to people, although they have discontinued and the newer version is BT Baby Monitor 6000. It’s available to purchase from Amazon UK: https://amzn.to/2IS3Omh

5. GroBag Baby Sleep Bag

We absolutely love GroBags. Our daughter was 3 months old when she started using this sleeping bag and it has been a lifesaver. The Grobag provides a safer, easier to use alternative to loose sheets and blankets with no more kicking off covers, giving both parents and babies a much better night’s sleep. They are available in a variety of sizes: 0-6mths, 6-18mths, 18-36mths and also a range of TOG: 0.5 – 3.5, depending on the warmth of your home/season.

We much prefer the sleeping bags with front zips as these have fixed shoulders which are great for our daughter as she tends to open the poppers on the shoulders of the side zip version. I can’t fault these bags, in fact, it’s now my go-to gift when a new baby arrives amongst friends and family. Highly recommend. We buy ours from TK Maxx but they can be bought on Amazon US & UK: https://amzn.to/2IVsOZO

  1. My babe is 10 months and I love our sleep sacks! Thankfully my mom has made us several. We also still use our baby bath. Baby girl sits in it now (took the new born sling out) but it’s much more convenient and water conserving. Instead of filling up the large bath every time.

    1. Sleeping bags are amazing, as I mentioned above I give them as gifts to friends and families now. The look at my strange but when they try it out I always get “those bags are fantastic”. Filling a big bath for little babies makes no sense to me. The small bath holds plenty of water for splashing and it stays warmer too. Thanks for your comment Sarah ?
