February 2018: Looking back to reach our goals

FEBRUARY 2018 A Personal & Business Goal Review. IIn this blog post I share whether or not I've hit the monthly goals and some blog/youtube stats.

In this post, I want to share my activity from February 2018. At the start of January 2018, I uploaded a video to my YouTube channel to share my goals (business/personal) for the year of 2018. In this blog post, I will share my February 2018 stats and whether or not I reached those goals.

My top 3 referrers were: Pinterest with 97 views, Facebook with 92 views and Stumbleupon with 55 views.

Looking ahead to 2018 as a whole, my goal on YouTube is to achieve 6,000 subscribers for a total of 12,000 subscribers by December 31st, 2018. In February I gained 279 subs, realistically I need to gain 500 per month. Whilst I am delighted to welcome these new subscribers I was hoping to improve on last month. In February I gained fewer subscribers than January. Overall February had lower analytics than January but it’s to be expected. Historically February – May have been “bad” months on YouTube for my channel.

Ava goals:

  • Reduce screen time
    • Somedays this worked well, some days not so much.
  • Daily “learning” activities
    • This one is tough, Ava is currently 22/23 months old and her attention span is non-existent for these activities. However I did start Tot School, I bring her to sensory play classes, we sing and act out nursery rhymes daily and go outside on walks. I feel all these activities combined have helped her develop this February.
      • She now says “Hello”, “Mama”, “Car”, “Two”, “Three”, “Dada” and sounds out the letter “C”, “H” and “L”. I’m super proud of her speech development in February. However, she is quite selective about when she speaks. It’s on her terms and no amount of encouragment makes her speak if she wishes not too.

Personal goals:

  • Read 1 book in each of these categories: financial, leadership and self-development
    • In February 2018 I only managed to read one book. Mumpreneur by Annabelle Karmel. I found this book interesting. It’s a step by step with tips & tricks to start your own business. There are some great tidbits of information surrounding market research and splitting your time between family and work. I would recommend this book if you have an idea in mind for a business, it will help you develop or scrap the idea.
  • Spend 4 hours learning French
    • NO French was learnt this month. Completly failed on this goal.

Overall it wasn’t a terrible month. Lots to improve and lots of research if I’m going to hit those 2018 goals. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading my February 2018 review.

Until next time,

Karen x
